Abigail the Pumpkin Witch

Introducing Abigail

Blessed day to all. This Halloween piece is a full 28 inches from top to bottom.

When Witches go riding,
and black cats are seen,
the moon laughs and whispers,
tis near Halloween.

The stocking is double layered and sewed. It has a osnaburg interior, with a rough linen cloth on the exterior. Burlap patches have been hand stitched on the toe, and heal. The top of the stocking has cheese cloth.  The whole stocking has been stained numerous times to give it that lovely aged look. Stars have been individually hand painted onto the cloth, then detailed with stain.

A black cat with hand stitched facial features, sisal whiskers and a black onyx glass taxidermy eye has been added attached on the toe, and at the head to the stocking.

Lets take a close up look at beautiful Abigail.  She has been painted, sanded, and stained numerous times. A burlap nose was hand stitched to her face.  She has two black onyx glass taxidermy beads for eyes.  A wire of rusty little bells have been added to form her mouth.  Abigail's hat has been painted, stained, sanded and aged and hand stitched to her head.  Abigail has been mounted on a stick full of moss that I had gathered on a hike in the mountains, cleaned and carefully preserved.

To complete this rustic Folk Art piece,  gatherings that I have preserved from my own garden.  Corn husks, Sweet Annie, Grasses, and of course the lovely moss from the mountains.

This is a original piece. No pattern was used to make this large display folk art stocking that can be used on a door or as a beautiful statement on your wall.
This piece has been sold.

More will be offered on June 15 on Early Works Mercantile.

"With these Wings he will Fly"

Isn't he majestic and grand? Let me give you the details of this marvelous king of the sky.  But first you really need to pull out your tape measure.  This amazing eagle is 45 inches from wing tip to wing tip.  From the top of his head, to his tail he is 23 inches.

Have I got your focus yet?  His eyes are hand detailed and painted, I have inserted them into his head. Perfectly shaded around with my brush. His glorious yellow beak has been needle sculpted for that 3 - d effect.

The Eagle in flight has a "God Bless America" banner.  We are proud of our nation.  Rusted bells and moss that I have carefully preserved has been added to the banner.  A stained and aged American Flag material was added around his wings.

Details are in the wings, as you can see they are sculpted. Detailed and stained. Rusty bells have been hand sewn on every wing tip. 12 bells rest upon these beautiful feathers.

One last look of this piece.  He is truly amazing.  Time has been patiently taken to age & process him to show stopping perfection.  He is a piece that can be passed down, a collector piece. Given to a newly wedded couple, or a military family to show the pride we have in them and our nation.
Thank you for looking. Kindly asking $165.00 with shipping
